Connect Hypello to Gemini

You can use Hypello in the Gemini app on the web and in Google's command-line tools.

Google calls MCP servers "custom apps" in the Gemini app.

Requirements from Google: a personal Google Account (not a work or school account), age 18 or over, in the US, English only, and Keep Activity turned on.

1. On a computer, go to gemini.google.com.

2. Open Settings at the bottom of the page, then Connected Apps. If you don't see it, open Personal Intelligence first, then Connected Apps.

3. Under Custom apps, click Add a custom app.

4. Enter the server URL and click Next:

5. Sign in to Hypello on the page that opens and click Allow.

To use it, type @ in a chat and choose Hypello. Gemini asks you to confirm every action that creates or changes something.

1. Add Hypello:

   gemini mcp add --transport http hypello https://mcp.hypello.com/mcp

   This saves it for the current project. Add -s user to use it everywhere.

2. In Gemini CLI, run /mcp auth hypello, sign in to Hypello in the browser and click Allow.

Google replaced Gemini CLI with Antigravity CLI for unpaid-tier and Google One users on June 18, 2026. If that's you, use the Antigravity steps below.

Antigravity uses serverUrl in its MCP config. Add this to ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json for every project, or .agents/mcp_config.json for one workspace:

Then open the agent settings, go to the Customizations tab, click Authenticate next to Hypello and sign in.
