Troubleshooting
Fixes for common problems when connecting Hypello to an AI assistant through MCP.
The assistant says I'm on the Free plan
Hypello's MCP tools need a paid plan (Creator, Pro or Business). Upgrade from the Hypello dashboard, then ask the assistant again. You don't need to reconnect.
"This authorization link is invalid" or "has expired"
The sign-in link from your AI app timed out or was already used. Start connecting again from your AI app, then approve access on the Hypello page that opens.
The assistant says a permission wasn't granted
The AI app is connected without a permission that the request needs. Remove the Hypello connector in your AI app, connect again, and approve every permission on the Hypello consent page. See permissions and access.
My Instagram account shows as inactive, blocked or disabled
The assistant reads the same account status as the Hypello app. Anything other than active usually means the Instagram connection expired or Meta needs you to sign in again. Reconnect the account in the Hypello app, then try again.
I can't find where to add a custom connector
Most AI apps only allow custom MCP connectors on some plans, and some need an admin to turn them on for a team or company workspace. Check the setup page for your app:
The assistant created the wrong automation
New automations are drafts, so nothing is sent until they're live. Ask the assistant to change it, or open it in the Hypello app and edit it there. The assistant can't delete automations, so delete unwanted drafts in the Hypello app.
