Connect Hypello to VS Code

Add the Hypello MCP server to VS Code and use it in GitHub Copilot chat.

Hypello works in GitHub Copilot's agent mode in VS Code.

  1. Open the Command Palette and run MCP: Add Server.

  2. Choose HTTP (HTTP or Server-Sent Events).

  3. Enter the server URL:

    https://mcp.hypello.com/mcp
  4. Enter hypello as the server ID.

  5. Choose where to save it. For personal use, VS Code recommends Global.

  6. Accept the trust prompt, then sign in to Hypello in the browser and click Allow.

Run MCP: List Servers to check the connection.

Add it to a project

To share the setup with your team, add this to .vscode/mcp.json. Each person signs in with their own Hypello account.

.vscode/mcp.json
{
  "servers": {
    "hypello": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.hypello.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Copilot Business and Enterprise

The MCP servers in Copilot policy is off by default for Copilot Business and Enterprise. An organization admin has to turn it on before anyone can use Hypello.
