How to set up follow-to-unlock DMs

    Create a DM from Comments automation

    Open Automations, click Add Automation, choose DM from Comments, and select your post or Reel.

    Add your keyword

    Add the word from your call to action in Set Trigger Keywords.

    Turn on Ask To Follow Before Sending DM

    Hypello checks whether the person follows you. If not, they get your message and a button asking them to follow first.

How follow-to-unlock DMs work

The follow check

When someone comments your keyword, Hypello checks whether they already follow you. Followers receive the DM straight away. People who don't follow yet get your message with a button asking them to follow first.

After they follow and tap the button, Hypello checks again and sends the freebie automatically, so nobody has to message you asking whether it worked.

A button that matches your voice

You can edit the button text to suit your tone, for example “I followed!” or “Send my presets”. The button works as a quick reply, so people tap it instead of typing anything.
